About

Local money in, local money out

Moving money between countries is usually slow because it is routed through correspondents who do not know each other. We take a shorter path: domestic rails on both ends, a dollar-denominated balance in the middle.

What we build

Plumbing, stated plainly

Yerba Tsede is three things: virtual accounts that collect in six currencies, a balance held in USDC, and payouts back onto local rails. We would rather describe it that way than call it a revolution.

The parts we spend most time on are the unglamorous ones — whether a destination is authorised, whether a recipient passes screening, whether every movement can be reconstructed a year later. Those are the parts that decide whether a payments business survives.

How we work

Three habits

01

Say what is not covered

A USDC balance is not a bank deposit, and no deposit guarantee scheme covers it. That sentence appears on every page of this site, not in a footnote on one of them.

02

Quote before confirming

Rates on this site are indicative. The rate and fees that apply to you appear on the quote, before you confirm — never after.

03

No overrides

A control that can be waived for a good customer is not a control. If a destination is not authorised, the payout cannot be created — by you, or by us.
